Ama Romaine is a strategic, mission-driven executive with more than two decades of experience leading complex organizations at the intersection of real estate, law, governance, and public policy. She has built a distinguished career advising boards, investors, and senior leaders across multiple asset classes, including hospitality, single-family and multifamily housing, affordable housing, logistics, and data centers.

She currently serves as Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Pretium, where she leads engagement with policymakers, industry organizations, and community stakeholders across the firm’s residential real estate ecosystem. In this role, she shapes legislative strategy, advances sustainable housing initiatives, and oversees local impact programs that strengthen the connection between business and community. Ama also continues to serve as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Progress Residential, providing strategic counsel on legal, risk, and compliance matters.

Prior to joining Pretium, she held senior leadership roles at Blackstone, G6 Hospitality, Hilton Worldwide, and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where she developed and executed enterprise-wide strategies that enhanced operational resilience, improved compliance, and drove long-term value creation. Her work has spanned IPOs, spinoffs, and multi-billion-dollar asset management initiatives, earning her a reputation as a trusted advisor capable of navigating complexity with precision and integrity.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ama is deeply committed to advancing inclusive leadership and social impact. She serves on the Real Estate Advisory Council at Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration and the Executive Board of the Marriott–Sorenson Center for Hospitality Leadership at Howard University. A recognized voice for equity and empowerment, she has also chaired national initiatives promoting diversity in leadership and co-founded organizations that foster safer, more connected communities.
